Agriturismo & Caciosteria

Traditional Comino Valley Cuisine

The Agritourism

Casa Lawrence Agriturismo offers three finely furnished dining rooms with a total capacity of 60 guests, where you can enjoy traditional Comino Valley dishes, along with the estate’s wines, meats, and cheeses.

It’s the ideal place to relax and immerse yourself in a warm and evocative atmosphere. Thanks to Lawrence’s detailed descriptions in The Lost Girl, the house has been faithfully restored. It includes two guest rooms, each equipped with a private bathroom, shower, and heating.

Open year-round, in accordance with local regulations: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays.

Inside Casa Lawrence, you’ll also find the Agri-Butcher Shop – a small shop selling estate-raised meats (including Picinisco lamb) with the option for takeaway (reservation required) or barbecue use in the gardens of Casa Lawrence.

This tender young lamb, exclusively milk-fed, is raised naturally in the highland pastures of the Valle di Comino, making it ideal for traditional local recipes, from the classic cacio e ova and coratella to oven-baked dishes.

The “Caciosteria”: The House of Good Cheese

The Caciosteria at Casa Lawrence is the space where cheeses are aged and refined in a naturally ventilated cellar, part of the Pacitti Family Farm.

For nearly two centuries, the family has passed down the shepherding tradition from father to son. The semi-free-range livestock consists mainly of sheep and goats. Each day, the animals are taken to pasture: clean air, high-mountain meadows, and unspoiled valleys ensure cheeses rich in the natural aromas of this land.

Among our raw milk cheeses are:

  • Pecorino di Picinisco DOP (PDO, Protected Designation of Origin)
  • Conciato di San Vittore
  • Caso peruto
  • Blu Valcomino
  • Marzolina (Slow Food presidium)
  • And many other sheep, goat, and cow cheeses.

The Caciosteria also offers tasting rooms where guests can enjoy other local specialties, including cured meats and wines like Cabernet d’Atina and Maturano di Picinisco.

New Menu Highlight: Baked potato stuffed with Pecorino di Picinisco

The Caciosteria also hosts events and activities from the Festival delle Storie, Atina Jazz, and Pastorizia in Festival. It is open on Sundays from 6 pm onward, and by reservation on other days. Seating capacity: approximately 30 guests. All products featured on the menu are available for purchase.

The building, originally constructed in 1930 and once the home of the maternal grandparents of the Pacitti family, was renovated in 2013.
